All-night prayer meeting attracts crowds

“A mind-blowing and spiritually charged event”, was how one young person from a London church described the SEC all-night prayer meeting last Saturday evening, 16 April, at the Advent Centre.

Four hundred young people from as far as Cornwall attended
The Power of Prayer along with supporting pastors in the SEC. The purpose of the event was twofold:

  • To dedicate the Youth Ministries plans for the SEC as well as leaders of the Youth department and Federations.
  • To emphasis and reignite the importance of the power of prayer among the young people.

Speakers for the event were Steven Hulbert who spoke about the Importance of Prayer, Enoch Adu whose topic was, How to Pray and the prayer meeting was concluded by Clarence Jackson, who emphasised The Power of Prayer.

One of the highlights of the evening included the ‘anointing service’ where individuals were invited for personal and individual prayer with the pastors present. For over an hour people queued solemn faced while the Praise team sang appropriate music in the background.

Reflecting on the event, Anthony Fuller,
SEC Youth director and event organiser said, “Saturday night was proof that God is faithful. Youth coming out to pray in their numbers. I was overwhelmed at what was achieved and proud of the sacrifice people made in making the night what it was. Prayer is fundamental to everything we do and it is important for me that we as the Youth department started right. Game face on… It’s now time to get to work.”

Powerful I am glad that young people still see prayer as source of fellowship with Jesus Christ
